Are people taking advantage of you? When I have this heavy feeling, like a weight on my shoulders, I know it is time for me to pause and reflect on the situation. This lecture is closely related to ‘know your boundaries”. Are people taking advantage of me; or am I choosing to behave in a way that allows them to set my priorities? So who’s fault is that? Is it their fault because I trained them to rely on me to always be there?
The only way to change their behavior is to change my behavior. Habits are hard to break. It starts with knowing where you are going and articulating your priorities in a way that politely sets expectations. Most people will respect you for having a vision.
