The door to change opens from within

Do you ever feel like someone is taking advantage of you? When you tell your friends what you did do they wonder why you ever agreed to doing the favor in the first place?

messy teenager roomMaybe you thought your spouse or child would appreciate you when you pick up after them. Instead, they’ve come to expect it. Yelling about it doesn’t work. The only way to change their expectations is to change you. Managing change might mean having the patience to leave a mess unattended or a wet towel on the bathroom floor.

If we ask others to change without changing something about ourselves, success is unlikely.
