Sharing my story is scary; but it is my way of giving a gift of hope. I was reminded of this by a gentleman I met at the Fox Theater at the Karen Newman Christmas Concert last week. My friend and I told him about the satisfaction we felt from being part of a community program that encourages young girls to explore careers in technology and engineering. He shared with us his desire to do public speaking so he could inspire Detroit-area high school students to be the best they can be.
To this stranger I say “Bravo!” Tell your story! Touch the hearts and minds of our community. It’s worth the risk. Give the gift of hope this holiday season and keep the fire burning into the New Year.
