Recently I was reminded of this lecture during a walk with a good friend. She told me that since her cancer diagnosis she is very careful about her time choices. She has important things to do in her life and there is no room in her day for non-value added activities.
How did you spend your holiday weekend? Did you strengthen ties with family members, golf with friends or work in the garden? Did you balance doing with being? Whatever you did, your actions define you in the eyes of others. Your kids, spouse and neighbors watch to see how you spend time. The choices you make about who you spend time with sends a message about what is important to you.
Today’s choices about your schedule reflects your reputation. Tomorrow it will be your legacy. There is no replay button on life so know where you’re going and spend time wisely.
