If we do not deliver on our promises, how can we expect others to trust us? If I am to lead others, then I must demonstrate the behavior I want to see in others. If I am late to meetings, others will be late.
If I make a habit of showing up on time and being prepared, it will set a tone for others. Even if someone else is running the meeting, I should expect to be a contributor. If I hold myself accountable for the productiveness of the session I will be making the best use of my time and will be showing respect for others. Leaders do not succeed alone. To get the best from others, start with yourself.
