Act on facts, not assumptions

We can’t help but make assumptions about a person, thing, or situation. It’s how we make sense of things.

If we only reach out to like-minded people, we hear what we want to hear.  When we ask others “what do you see?” and “what conclusions do you draw from this?” we get a better sense of reality.

Leaders seek out people who can help them understand different perspectives. These meaningful conversations shine a light on our assumptions and help us capture the facts.
